not sure what is happening, but recently my isp's server got spammed, 
delaying access to the server that did nothing for hours and hours and then 
released huge amounts of outgoing e-mail all at once.  I 'own' a small list 
and periodically the server on which it is on (that I don't control) gets 
spammed and then the list goes kaboie until I notice.  To fix the problem, 
I have to shut off all lists, move a file or two on my list, and then 
restart the darn thing.  Sometimes I don't notice there is a problem for a 
day or two.  After start up mail gets released by some rules that only the 
great digital master in the sky understands.

maybe something like the above is happening to the nb list?

oh,  I'm often the first one to catch a problem with my isp's server.  And, 
of course, they immediately think it is on my system.  The other day after I 
called my isp they had me do the usual checks (that I'd already done on my 
own), then suggested a full scan of my machine, deleting certain files, 
bringing in the machine for repair...  I turned on my wife's machine and it 
too had the same problem clearly indicating that the problem was either at 
the isp's end or our modem/router that seemed to be performing fine. I wait 
and about three hours later the isp figured out their server had been 
spammed

Third time this has happened with the same isp and once we actually had 
brought in the router just as they discovered the problem was at their end. 
Gee complaining feels good
