NBLWS 8x crashes when inserting text

I have to translate some of my own texts and thought it was easiest to write
the translation into a copy of the original file, keeping long Hebrew quotes
and many footnotes. My new text and the original are separated only by a few
empty paragraphs and I delete passages of the original when I am done
translating them. Very very often when I want to write a Hebrew word at the
point where my new text ends, NB crashes with a protection error and I have
to restart from scratch. My first guess was that this was connected to
formatting problems of a cellular table in the original text, but a
page-break before the table does not change anything. I don't remember that
this happened as often with previous versions of NB. Any suggestions? I'll
be sending this to Techsupport as well, but I would appreciate any advise I
can get from the list as well.
