Yep!
I found a copy of my lost draft, with its eschatological 
filename, deep inside the machine at the University office. No 
need to pay hundreds of dollars for a decent data retriever 
then, but it was certainly a good lesson anyway. Keeping more 
than one machine up to date is tiresome and clumsy but 
rewarding enough when you face data loss.
