Disappearing Cursor Problem Resolved

I was one of a number of NB users who had the problem of the cursor
disappearing after performing certain format operations. The problem also
appeared in the final release of version 6.1 and I reported it to New York.
Steve Siebert replied that he could not reproduce the problem on his
computer. This started me thinking that perhaps there was a default setting
in NB that caused the problem, since my NB.DFL file had been frequently
modified over the years.

The solution was simple: I selected Tools, Defaults, then Restore Original
Settings (in the dialog box that appears) and selected Format and Other
Custom Settings. This returned NB to its shipping version default settings.
Then I went to Tools, Preferences to restore some of my favorite settings
for Zoom, Font, etc.  After that change, everything worked-- no more
disappearing cursor.

I would recommend that longtime users also try this solution which I suspect
will fix a number of minor problems that have crept in. (Installed NB
updates usually don't overwrite the NB.DFL file, meaning that changes are
cumulative and some may not be compatible with the current version of
NotaBene.)
