That's not a correct command, if the target ("Xywrite III+") is a subdirectory
of "XyWrite". Assuming your current location is dir \XyWrite, to ChDir to
"XyWrite III+" in both DOS and NB, command:
cd .\XYWRIT~1
Also, double-check that the short name of the subdir really is XYWRIT~1; if you
have, say, another subdir of "XyWrite" called "XyWrite IV" (or filename[s]
beginning XYWRIT...), they won't all be called XYWRIT~1:
dir /A:D /S /X [/P]
