File Open buglet

I don't know whether others have reported it, but I just ran into a problem
in the directory and file handling routines of NBwin 6.1 running under
Win2K:

On a CD ROM I have the following file: \XyWrite\XyWrite III+\3Plus.kbd

I can find it and call it with a variety of Windows programs by using the
long name ("XyWrite III+" is longer than a standard DOS 8+3 name), but not
with XyWrite 4 for DOS or with NBWin 6.1 under Win2K.

The problem originates with Win2K.

In a DOS emulation window, Win2K will show the subdirectory and path, and
will allow me to change to it when I use a long file name --- for example,
cd XyWrite III+.

Win2K messes up when I try to use a truncated name ---> cd XyWrit~1

Win2K understands and uses truncated names ---> cd \progra~1 will change
the directory to \program files. It gets confused with the repeated name
in my subdirectories (XyWrite), I guess.

NBWin 6.1 is still relying on Windows truncation. By this time it should be
competent with long file names, like other windows programs (at least in the
menus). Even Win2K's DOS emulation can do it.
