I feel much as Rick does about the question of whether a chatworld would
eventually substitute for this list. I am an infrequent correspondent,
largely because I am not a power user; I use three different word
processors, each for specific purposes. For editing, these days one of
my major functions, I use MS Word, because that is the format most of
the journals request. When I am writing something I want to illustrate
with photos or drawings, I use OpenOffice, for its ease of handling.
For everything else I use Nota Bene. Since I am a slow writer, a result
of having started out in the quill pen era, I do not normally need all
the many speed-up shortcuts. Accordingly, I seldom have anything useful
to contribute, except that under these vanilla operating conditions
NBWin gives me no nonsense.
I would not join in the chat, because, like Rick, I would seldom be
available at the proper time. Also, much of the discussion would be of
material I would never use, and to which I could add little or nothing.
However, I would greatly miss the company of you Notabenieri, if the
list were to dwindle away to nothing.
