printers
I'm thinking of buying the household a present in the next week, since my HPLJ
5L
insists on eating paper rather than printing on it. I would like a printer
that is still
NB4.5 compatible and that produces very sharp clean printouts and has NO PAPER
HANDLING PROBLEMS: input should take any plain, even reused, paper without
jamming, and output should feed into a copier without difficulty, and even be
camera-
ready quality.
Frank Stewart reported here a while back that the HP 1200 worked well, but
according to reviews on cnet.com it curls the paper and can skew the image,
especially if you don't use special heavy-weight paper all the time. Does
anybody have
further experience on this?
Has anyone used the higher grade and more expensive HP2200?
Between the two HPs in price is the Brother 1650 series. It does PCL
emulation.
Does that mean that will take a 4.5 HP printer driver in DOS or does the
emulation
depend on Windows? There were complaints about black dots on the output with
the
simpler Brother 1450 series. Does anyone have experience?
Any guidance welcome!
I wish one and all a merrier new year.
