formatting command is not recognized

I have a long introduction to a book that was begun in NBDOS, but which I
have transferred into NBWIN.  When I call it to screen now, I get the
"formatting command is not recognized" warning in the status bar at the
bottom of the screen.  This warning goes away after a few seconds.

When I page down the 165 pages, I cannot seem to make it come back on and I
cannot find the errant command.  Any suggestions about how to find and
remove it?
