Joachim,

Sounds like a scanner request to me.  Do you perhaps have some OCR 
software on your computer that may have tried to attach itself to 
NotaBene?  As I recall, TextBridge used to work that way.  I once 
tried to implement a TextBridge to NB connection in the past, but I 
could never get it to work; indeed, it usually crashed NB.  All it 
did was insert items such as the ones you mention in the File 
dropdown list for NB.
