Portable sharing

We've just purchased two desktops and one shared portable.  Both spouse
and I use legal versions of NB.  Last time we had a functioning portable
nb was a DOS program, we just put up one version on the portable so we
could jot notes when we travel.

It now appears that both of us will be doing real work while on the road
e.g. requiring our separate ibidems, our own customizations etc.  Is there
any reason why we can't just put up the same version of nbwin in two
separate folders, one for the boy type and one for the girl type?

The OS is XP (brand new to us)
