Re: Crasha Bene!

John,

If you crash NB you >>>>MUST<<<< use NB's "Recover" utility to unload
DLLs (what exactly are they - can someone please explain!!??) before
NB will be stable again. It seems to follow that you are missing out
here from your own evidence - ie, that you need to reboot to get
stability.

However, this is only part of the story, obviously. Why do you crash?
I use SWS, and it has become reasonably and satisfactorily reliable.
I would suggest that you have something else which when running is
quarreling with NB. The usual careful elimination seems to be
advisable.

I would suggest that you start with your anti-virus pgm. I think that
this really can cause problems, as - as I said t'other day - NB
apparently likes writing to its .EXE files.

Also, you should have "small fonts" selected in your settings. I was
advised on this by NY. (Settings - active desktop - customise my
desktop - setings - advanced: select small fonts). This made a
difference to me.

Of course, you have the latest version of NB?

Hope this helps....

Mervyn
