Crasha Bene!
Hey List Folk!
Is it just me or my system? Am I the only one for whom NBWin
Lingua crashes constantly? I can't even say how to reproduce
these crashes. Anything at any time can unexpectedly make NB
crash. I don't mind so much, since I save CONSTANTLY, but now it
even appears that Nukedll (the recovery utility) is reporting a
"general protection fault --every time I am forced to use it! And
what's worse, about half of the crashes force me to reboot they
system before NB will run again. (NB doesn't crash the operating
system but won't restart without a fresh boot -- so much for the
recovery utility!)
Notabene is practically the only program on my system that ever
crashes. As I'm working on it all the time, this can happen
upwards of 20 times a day!
I am a dedicated NB user. In fact, I've used NB since 1986 --it's
the only word processor I've every really worked with. I'm
probably responsible for as many as 30 people purchasing the
program. That said, I'm getting pretty frustrated. As much as I
want to, I'm finding it pretty difficult to recommend NB to
others in my academic community, especially if they're not
computer adepts prepared to work under the hood. I would like
to be able to push NBWin further, since I'm basically in this for
the duration, and it would be enlightened self-interest to keep
encouraging business to notabene. But how can I?....
I'm running Win98SE, and I must confess that I've got a lot going
on in my system. Still, as I said, NB is the ONLY program which
crashes constantly. What have the programmers done to make it
this way? Any recommendations?
Thanks and happy holidays to all,
Andrew
