Filename truncation

As I promised, I tried to find my solution and it seems I got it.
Uninstalled Norton System Works version 2.00 and everything comes back to 
normal.
Even our beloved (and frail) Nota Bene.

Someone checked most recent edition of Norton stuff? (Utilities 2001, System 
Works Professional Edition, and so on?).
I am interested in others' experience because Norton has always been a great 
utilities publisher, of a great help, that's sure.
I am unease to renounce at it.

(The Registry optimizer was gold for my system's performances)
