file transfer language tags

I've got an irritating problem with files I send from NB 5.4 to Word 8.  I
use word eight to check over French language texts with Pro Lexis (the
mightiest grammar/spell checker I've ever seen in any language), but the
texts that come over from NB seem to have a language tag embedded in the
heading that defeats all my efforts to tell Woid that this ain't English
(and naturally, this being a MS program, it's impossible to edit the
underlying code). Is there any way to get rid of this tag ?
