Re: Convert Styles NBDOS -> NBW?
David,
The general rule of thumb is that styles can be rescued and re-used
*for the most part*, but not necessarily in wholesale fashion. That is,
the more complex a document (which is what a style is, in essence) the
more fine-tuning is needed in conversion. This is true for virtually
all word-processing applications. It was true of DOS, if one remembers
that in NB v4.x changed the italics print mode command from the way it
had been in version 3. This meant that any style and document had to
undergo a bit of fine-tuning if it involved italics.
The easiest way I've found to go about this is to call up a document
from NBD with the desired style and replace the commands that differ in
NBW, save the document in NBW, and then remove the undesired text and
save the file again as a template file. If you're asking about a
complex organizational document, a la academic style, there is more
work to do before saving it as a user-defined framework. In each case,
you should then have your style.
Best,
Mark
