Ibidem-plus table view

I have a couple of Ibid+ databases that I converted from DOS; these work
fine. I have also created a couple of new ones in NBW (I use Lingua 5.2,
but I think that's not important for this). They work fine, too, except
for one thing: In the table view there is a vast space between the record
number and the other fields I have chosen to appear in the table. I use
the AU field as the first one, supposing that, because AU appears next to
the record number in bibliographic databases (and in the one's I converted
from DOS), that would naturally be the case here, too. Not so. In order
to see the label I've put in the AU field, I have to page over
painstakingly on each successive record. What's happening? How can I
change it? Most annoying when browsing!

P.S. A couple of other folks on the list and I tried last year this time
to use IBIDEM to produce addresses on labels. Nobody seemed to have found
a way then. O.K., it's time again for those Xmas cards, folks, and it's a
real drudge to clean up the "Report" in the only form I've managed in
order to get it to work on Avery labels. Anybody out there doing this? By
the way, the XyWrite templates available on the website are nice for
making a list by hand, but it doesn't seem possible to get IBIDEM to use
them.
