Phrase Keys

Hi,

I'm brand new to the list but an old NB user (from 3.1).

My phrase keys on NBWIN 5.2 are driving me nuts.  Most of them work fine,
but the "c" key that I had been using, all of a sudden stopped working (as
did the "v".)  when I shift alt on most active key, a correct phrase occurs,
when I shift alt an inactivated key, a box comes up telling me (as it
should) that no phrase has been assigned.  When I shift alt on either "c" or
"v" it first appears that nothing is happening, but then for a fraction of a
second the Windows hour glass appears.

(It almost looks like the phrase keys are trying to open an internet site or
some such weird thing)

When I try to restore the defaults (using tools, defaults etc.) the initial
file does not restore.

I moved to my wife's machine (we have two legal NBs).  Her phrase keys seem
to work fine, but when I tried to restore them to the default settings
nothing happened, even after restarting nb.

Any advice would be appreciated.  (besides not using the "c" and "v" key :)
