NBWin: rtf, academic style, accents in BookWhere

Folks--

Forgive me if these three somewhat naive questions have already been
answered:

1. Under what circumstances would one want to export a style to rtf? For
example, would the best way to convert a document in the Chicago Manual of
Style to MS Word be to use rtf rather than just exporting it to Word?

2. It is possible to enter titles and keywords with German umlauts into
BookWhere searches? How?

3. It doesn not appear to be possible to enter a word in italic in the
title field of the dialogue box using the menu when one is setting up an
academic style. I've gotten around it by inserting the codes into the text
"manually," but one would think that since many titles include other
titles within them, that it should be easier to do this. Or am I
overlooking something?
