Endnote is quite effective for generating footnotes or endnotes, but
cannot produce the subject bibliographies that Ibidem excels in
creating. The kind of use you require should determine your choice of
tools. My son-in-law uses Endnote for scientific articles that don't
require the kind of extensive bibliographies needed in other fields;
he's also a Mac user and doesn't have available the latest version of
ProCite (or any version of Ibidem), which could do both.
