NB5 Working with two windows

When I open a pair of files and arrange the two windows vertically I
will like to have NB adjust the right margin of each window so that I
don't have to scroll from margin to margin to see all the text. If I
remember well, NB DOS did it automatically. 
...
It's half an hour I am trying to modify the horizontal layout of my
files, reducing text width to window dimension. 

New values stay active for the first two pages or so, then I am
presented to a page formatted with previous values. Believe it or not,
opening in draft mode doesn't show anything responsible for this
behaviour: no commands, no markers... So what? 

In the meantime my job is waiting for me...

I had it done switching to Nota Bene for DOS
