While we're putting in our druthers, and since Lingua/IPA is apparently
not yet finished, it would be very good if Notabene could somehow link up
with the real IPA (that is, the International Phonetic
Association) and see about licensing their official fonts. The
NBDos Lingua fonts were extremely nonstandard, with many common symbols
hard to find, and scattered among three different pages. The
official IPA font can be found at http://www2.arts.gla.ac.uk/IPA/ipa.html and they sell a Windows version for relatively cheap--I suspect
they'd be glad to license it for quite cheap too, and you could boast as
being the only word processor with official sanctioned phonetic
symbols.
Disclaimer--I'm a member of the International Phonetic Association, and
like many phoneticians, feel strongly in favor of standardization of
symbols.
