- From your description, I would recommend the use of NB Orbis because it
is especially well suited to note-taking of all sorts. More than this,
I would suggest the creation of a template suited to the project's
specific functions and goals. You could then enter the field notes in
this template. You could save each file with a consistent telltale
extension that would automatically index every file into the Orbis
database you would create for the project.
The field notes template in NBW's Ibidem comes as part of the Ibid Plus
the company has made available for free for a limited time. I find
Orbis to act as a better alternative in that it is fully dedicated to
search and to retrieval.
