Michael
Welcome to the list. I too am learning how to customize NB5, but coming
from the direction of NB4.

screen instead of a blank, untitled document. I put the following in my
NBSTART.INT: > > BXÿDSORT F,EÿQ2;*; > BX DIR Q2 <<
Where did you find 'E2', and what does it do? I'm gradually compiling a
list of all the NB5
command codes I come across (mostly from lists compiled by other NB list
members), of whatever sort, and that one is new to me. Any others up your
sleeve?
I too can't get a directory to open from NBSTART.INT.

uncheck. <<
I'm able to toggle my Auto-Check and Replace, and also my Auto-Replace
Only, from the Proof menu. What version of NB5 are you using? We're now on
5.004.
Have you tried putting AC (auto-check) and/or AZ (auto-replace) on a key
and toggling it on and off from there? I've got AZ on a key.

Me neither. Or of when AR is on. That info needs to be somewhere on
screen (in NB4 it's on the rhs of the command line), otherwise the only
way you can tell you've got AR or Caps on is by typing and deleting.

Very strange. <<
I think others have reported something like this fairly recently; you
could check the
archive. (Let me know if you don't have info about how to get to it.)
>> tech support... told me there was no way to change the
draft font. Anyone have a work around? <<
Again, I think you'll find info in the archive. Dorothy Day posted info
about getting (oh, this is vague in my mind) extra Windows fonts (or was
it DOS, or was it system?) ....which could be made the default
...something...font, and improve the draft view. I think I did it, in
fact, but it was in the late spring.
I wish I had more definite information for you.
Best wishes
Mary
