Cameron,

1. When you append, you should choose "bookwhere records" - the "ibidem
records" choice is meant for importing records from another ibidem database.

2.  The "wrong file format" message might mean that the file to which you
exported records did not have a .dat extension.  As I recall, the first time
I exported from Bookwhere the program suggested a filename with a different
extension--I had to change it.  After that, it has always suggested the
last-used name and location as the default.  This is just a guess, but if
your export file has a different ending (other than .dat), I suspect that
that is the problem.

I also find that the default export folder of Bookwhere is different from
the default import folder for Ibidem, but I imagine that you dealt with that
one already.

I am curious, so please let me know if this solution works!
