Parallel columns are notoriously flakey...

A few pointers:

1. Make pagebreaks explicit (insert a pg delta)

The NB4 Manual was done this way.

2. Try to eliminate extraneous formatting/language deltas.

This is best done with a brief XPL routine that goes through the

file(s) rather than the utility built into the Help file which is

VERY good at getting it wrong! -- particularly if you are using

codepage 850 and the Lingua Greek!)

3. Experiment using expanded mod to edit the column deltas.

This can be tricky, but it helps if each page is a distinct

columnar table. ie you put an <<EC>> at the bottom of each page

and repeat the header info at the top of the next.

4. Keep everything as simple as possible: do you need 4 columns?

Would 2 columns suffice:- Mt+Mk on even pages; Lk+Jn on odd?

I have some utilities that can handle most of these probs but they are

not really in a state to pass on. I'd be happy to apply them to your

files which might be a quicker solution than the offer from NB

Support.
