Yes, it works, but it also deletes formatting commands
<<MD##>> and any footnotes containing fewer than
77 characters. So I think you need to do this:

1. Switch to Expanded mode (Shift+F8)

2. From the command line, as JP described, enter the
command CIA \<<MD\@@\ (The @@ can be any
symbol or combination of symbols that appears
nowhere else; it's just a temporary placeholder.) The
<< symbolizes the C+S+A+[ bracket as JP
described.

3. If there are footnotes, enter the command CIA
\<<FN1\%%\  (The %% is just another placeholder;
can be anything not otherwise in the document but not
the same as the one used in step 2.) I've assumed
any footnotes are for note series 1; if there are other
note series present, you'll have to repeat this using
FN2,..., etc., with different placeholder character
strings each time.

4. Now do the command JP gives to delete the deltas.

5. Enter the command CIA \@@\<<MD\ which will
restore your formatting commands.

6. Enter the command CIA \%%\<<FN1\ to restore
your footnotes. Repeat as needed (see 3) if there
were other note series.

Also FWIW you don't have to use a particular slash
(back or forward).... In fact you can use *any*
character in place of the slashes so long as it is *not*
present in the string you want to search for or replace
with, and so long as you use the *same* character in
all 3 places. Thus, "CIA .<<MD.@@." (using the
period as the "delimiter") works just as well. This rule
holds for *all* search and search-replace using SE,
SEA, SEB, CV, etc.
