No Subject

A couple of people have asked me what I did to get notices telling me that
my list messages have been sent, and to how many subscribers, as in:

Is anyone there?"  has been successfully distributed to the NOTABENE list
(220 recipients). <<

I'd forgotten how I set it up, but I've rediscovered how. It's nothing to
do with Pine; it's a LISTSERV thing. If you send the command

                     SET NOTABENE ACK NOREPRO

to LISTSERV, you will get acknowledgements (including the
number of recipients) whenever you send
messages.

I don't have the complete Listserv Refcard; this is just my
setting. I think 'ACK' means 'send acknowledgment' and 'NOREPRO, 'don't
send a copy of the message. Presumably if you wanted both an
acknowledgment and a copy, you would say 'SET NOTABENE ACK REPRO', but I'm
not sure.
