Proficient in Spanish? Done (or almost done) with your ELL licensure? An
ELL/LCD .5 FTE long-term sub position is open at Adams Spanish Immersion
(part of the St. Paul Public Schools). This position would have a
possibility of being combined with a .5 classroom or .5 media position

Lincoln Adult Education Center, a non-profit adult (ABE) English as a
second language program, is gathering a pool of potential applicants to
draw from for a number of upcoming job openings due to program expansion
and a maternity leave.
* Openings for part-time ESL teachers in downtown Minneapolis.
Classes meet Monday through Thursday. Available time slots include 9:00
am to noon, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Classes
available are beginning level through intermediate level.
* Openings for part-time workforce ESL teachers to teach
customized English classes at worksites in Minneapolis. Variety of time
slots available, but often includes early morning or late afternoon.
Qualified candidates will have coursework in TESOL and at least one year
experience teaching ESL to adults. If you are interested in one of the

Volunteer with
Employment Action Center
ESL Instructor
For over twenty-five years, Employment Action Center (EAC) has been in the
forefront of pioneering new methods to assist job seekers and employers.
Through partnerships with the community we help over 8,900 individuals a year
to reach their career goals. Our mission is to empower and prepare individuals
to achieve their employment potential, while building diversity and actively
opposing racism.
Purpose of Position:
Volunteers will improve the English skills of Employment Action Center
participants.
Sample Activities:
Create lesson plans for ESL classes
Teach group classes
Work one-on-one with specific participants
Qualifications:
Ability to communicate in both small group and one-on-one settings
Appreciation of diversity
Patience and good listening skills
Adherence to confidentiality policy
Familiarity with Somali/Hmong languages or familiarity with ESL preferred
although not required
Timeframe: 8 hours/week (2 days/week) for a minimum of 3 months. All ESL
classes take place between 9am and 1pm.

Anoka Hennepin District 11 has numerous opportunities available for qualified,
enthusiastic and committed English as a Second Language teachers. They are
inviting gruduates or soon to be graduates to participate in a job fair that
will include pre-scheduled introductory interviews. It will be held on Tuesday,
October 11 from 8 - 4 at their Educational Service Center, 11299 Hanson Blvd.

The South Saint Paul Public Schools are looking for bi-lingual
(Hmong-English) volunteers to work with elementary aged Hmong students,
who have just arrived this summer. Our school day runs from 8:25am to
3:00 pm. Volunteers can set their own schedule.

PT; 12 months/year; 3 mornings/wk (T, Th, F); 16.5 hours/wk. Class is from
9:15 a.m.-12:35 p.m. Position also includes prep, meeting, and volunteer
support time. Teach English as a Second Language to beginning level adult
learners. Minimum qualifications: Current Minnesota teaching license (any
field) or BA or MA in ESL, applied linguistics, or bilingual education; strong
communication and organizational skills; ability to be flexible and function
well in a busy environment, to work well as a team member, and to work well
with volunteers. Experience in an ESL or ABE program preferred. Experience
working with adults preferred. Computer knowledge preferred. Start date: ASAP

license (any field) or BA or MA in ESL, applied linguistics, or bilingual
education; strong communication and organizational skills; ability to be
flexible and function well in a busy environment, to work well as a team
member, and to work well with volunteers. Experience in an ESL or ABE program
preferred. Experience working with adults preferred. Computer knowledge

staff our Centro de Informacion Y Recursos.

Saturday, October the 29th is the day! All of your elementary and secondary
licensure candidates are once again invited to attend, FREE of charge, our 6th
annual workshop for geography skills for teachers. This popular event is
co-sponsored by the Associated Colleges of the Twin Cities (ACTC) and the
Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education (MAGE), and hosted by the Education
Department and social studies major at Hamline University.
