We are very sorry to report the death of Graduate School of Education student
Roeshell Lewis. Roshell was a student in the Master of Art in Teaching/English
as a Second Language program.

Roeshell became ill on Friday and died over the weekend. Her family is from
Mississippi and her funeral will be held there.

The Hamline community is invited to attend a memorial gathering hosted by Cedar
Riverside, the Minneapolis school where Roeshell worked. The memorial will be
held on Friday, September 23, at 9:30 a.m. at the Brian Coyle Community Center,
located at 720 15th Ave. S in Minneapolis, just north of the Cedar Riverside
Apartment Complex.

Any Hamline students, faculty, or staff who would like to remember Roeshell by
organizing a time for telling stories or memorial service at Hamline can
contact Theresa Mason, university chaplain, at tmason@hamline.edu or
651-523-2315.

Counseling services are available from the Office of Counseling and Health
