Part-time ABE teacher to teach English as a Second Language in a new
high-level ESL program. This part-time person will be responsible
for teaching an evening class on Mondays and Wednesday the improved
the English skills of second language learners who are working to
enter the Technical College or take their GED tests. Along with
teaching the class this person will work collaboratively with Metro
North ABE and the Technical College to recruit students into the
program and report on-going success of the students and
effectiveness of the program.
Approximately 5 hours/week will be spent working directly with
students or teaching. Five hours each week are allowed for prep,
meetings, recordkeeping and other assignments.
Classes begin ASAP after posting. Position is for 10 hours/week,
year round, plus time for program setup and training prior to
program start up.
Minimum qualifications: Valid Minnesota teaching license or advanced
ESL degree. Proven ability to work as a professional team member.
Computer skills required. Experience working with adults in an ESL
or ABE academic program is preferred. Experience teaching in a GED
program a plus.
Starting Hourly Wage: $20.30

Job Description: Teaching Conversational English in Seoul, South Korea
This is a one year position at the Tereleo Academy.
Students ranging in age from 7-14 are attending this after school English
Immersion
Academy to have conversational English lessons. Teaching duties are: maximum
class
size of five students from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in a 100% English speaking
environment.
Compensation: housing, round-trip airline ticket, and 2.1 million Won per
month. An
additional 2.1 million Won severance after completing the contract.

Lincoln Adult Education Center, a non-profit adult (ABE) English as a
second language program, has a part-time opening (20 hours per week,
Monday -Friday, 9am - noon) for an ESL teacher in downtown Minneapolis.
Teach a beginning level course to adult learners who speak Hmong,
Somali, Spanish and other languages. Course will run June 24 to Aug 24
with the possibility of continuing. Qualified candidate will have
coursework in TESOL and at least one year experience teaching ESL to
adults.
