Correction for Registration Guide for summer, 2005: Linguistics for
Language Teachers ESL 7519 shows the class starting June 7, Tuesday
evenings, from 5:15 - 9:30. It will actually be held on both Tuesday
and Thursday evenings, except for June 9 (the Thursday of the first week
only). Please call our office if you have any questions about this.
Statewide Rally for Public Education
A statewide rally for public education will be held at 5:00 PM on
Monday, February 28, 2005 at the State Capitol Building, 75 Rev. Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Entertainment begins at 4 PM, speakers and
rally begin at 5 PM. Parking is available in the upper lot of the St.
Paul College (235 Marshall Avenue. and at the Rondo Education Center
(360 Concordia Avenue). Shuttle buses will run from 4:30 - 5:00 and
return after the rally.
Admission Possible
It's that time of year again! Admission Possible in St. Paul,
Minnesota
is hiring AmeriCorps and VISTA positions for Fall 2005!
Admission Possible is a non-profit organization that works with
low-income high school students in the Twin Cities (urban Minneapolis
and St. Paul) to help them get to college. We are hiring for many
different positions and are looking for college graduates to work
directly and indirectly with low-income high school students to help
them gain college admission.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to make a difference!

Global Language Village program in China
Volunteers are needed in China for 3 weeks of teaching and touring.
-must be native speaker of English
-flexible, open-minded and looking for a service-oriented adventure
-interested in Chinese culture and cultural exchange
-interested in working with students and young people
Teaching certification is not necessary.
session 1 July 6-28 (Beijing tour included)
session 2 July 7-29 (Shanghai tour included)
cost $2195 (includes airfare, tours, accommodations, travel in China
and most meals)
