Graduate Writing Center
The Graduate Writing Center (GWC) offers useful input for every phase
of graduate-level writing assignments. Whether you'd like assistance
narrowing a topic, structuring an argument or citing references - or
simply want a fresh set of eyes - we can help you make a good paper even
better.
Spring 2005 Hours
We have regular hours, but are happy to make appointments at other
times if your schedule doesn't allow you to come during the hours
listed below. Please call us at 523-2852 to schedule a meeting-even if
you want to come during the listed hours. That way, we'll be sure to
have someone available to help you.
Monday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Thursday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Staff
Our consultants are experienced writers and tutors, with particular
expertise in the process of writing graduate academic papers.
Nancy Hellerud, GWC Director, is a professor at the Graduate School of
Management where she teaches writing courses.
Geoff Herbach's background includes writing and publishing on
environmental and other issues and teaching English in Poland. He has a
Masters in Urban Planning and experience in writing policy and research
methods papers.

Please make the appointment at least one day in advance as the center
is staffed based on appointments.
Cost To Students
All graduate students are given two hours of GWC time per academic year
at no cost. Students who want or need more time will be charged $10 per
hour on their student account. Students with similar assignments can
work with GWC staff in small groups at a rate of $20 per hour.
