Since text was quoted from both the origina post and my reply I wasn't 
sure if this was directed at me or not.  However, my form was not being 
displayed modally.  Also, I was trying to call Close() from OnShow, not 
OnCreate (which the original poster was trying).  My program seems to be 
working fine now, although I have seen a couple of other ideas with which 
I may experiment (Perform() and OnPaint).
