Re: BCB3 compile BCB1 projects

Mr. Barry,
BCB3 really does compile BCB1's projects! But did you by any chance made
a very very simple project in BCB1 and compiled it. If you did you should
have noticed the size of the EXE files. This simple project if rebuild in
BCB3 then the size miracally reduces.
Also I should point that if you compile the prevously BCB1-made project
in BCB3 then the size is slightly greater than that file compiled in BCB1.
I would preffer to convert the whole project in BCB3 (i.e. by openning
an empty new project and including the forms and changing the project
options) but I really have to say that 51 forms is a lot.
I think this should be a good answer.

    Subject: BCB3 compile BCB1 projects

I was led to believe that BCB3 will not compile a BCB1 project as is
    (without modification) Is this correct?
That is the main reason why I have not bought BCB3.

I have one on-going project (51 forms so far), which is already being
used by clients at the moment but future modules are planned, plus
small enhancements are done regularily. At the moment I am working on
no other programming projects. (I am not a programmer by profession).

I do not intent reworking this project so as to use BCB3.

Please advise, whether BCB3 would in fact compile this project as is.
The only non standard component used is TxyGraph from Kestral.

    Barry
