MDI windows and statusbar

I have a wordprocessor using MDIForms.  When I select New to start a new
child window editor the statusbar works fine showingthe current line/column
number, I start a second child window and the statusbar works fine with the
line/column number.  When I switch back to the first child window the
line/column number are not updated, when I then switch back to the second
window it works fine.  How do I get the statusbar to update properly
switching between windows?
