TRadioGroup question

I have a group of radio buttons in the form of a TRadioGroup. . . 

First of all, is there any better way (something other than TRadioGroup) that
allows the radio buttons to function as a unit but does not require that
annoying ItemIndex property to tell which one is Checked? 

Also, what must I change to allow the radio button to be unchecked once it has
been Checked?  (So that after checking one, I am able to uncheck it so that
none are checked.)
