Yes, apparently I messed up the settings when experimenting just after I
installed. So I read further in Kent's book and corrected the problem. Seems
like BCB3 is mor involved that version1. I'm not sure about the cached
headers, but there is a switch for not generating state files (which
disables incremental linking) on the Project/Options/Linker page. I also
selected Static lib linking. There is also the option to use debug vcl,
which I deselected for a smaller exe, and on the packages page, I deselected
using packages. This produces a standalone exe, much like BCB1, with no
other files to distribute. Seems like the way to go except in large
projects.
