I think this is a great idea.  Also to help folks who use email filters, 
I'd add that it would be a good idea to indicate this in the subject line 
of any posts to the list.  Sample subject lines could look like

[BCB3] myProblem with BCB3   or  
[BCB1] myProblem with BCB1

This would allow folks to sort through or discard discussion regarding
an environment they may not use.  While 3.0 users may wish to read and 
answer questions regarding 1.0, folks who choose not to upgrade may wish 
to skip threads which would not apply to their situation.
