Printer - not found?

When trying to print I get an error message 'Printer already printing' or
something like that - when the printer isn't busy at all. This error
occurs at Printer() -> BeginDoc() ;

I'm pretty sure that the problem is because the Printer() ; isn't finding
the default printer. Instead, it's looking at some NULL printer that
doesn't exist. This is on Windows 95 and the default printer is working
great for everything else. 

My steps here are pretty basic. 

I #include <vcl\printers.hpp> in a menu clik function I call Printer() ->
BeginDoc ; // And I get the error before I put anything onto the Canvas.

Is there something more I can/should do by way of preparation for
printing?
Anyone recognise this type of problem?
