Second Sundays at Horton
Enjoying Our Park through Stewardship
The Friends of Horton Park typically meet on the 2nd
Sunday of each month at noon, (exceptions are noted
below). Participating in the community gardens of Horton
Park does not require extreme commitment. Rather, attending a
gathering or two over the season allows you to visit other Midway
gardeners and peacefully contribute to the green of Midway. Of course
those who come every month open-heartedly welcome to anyone to
attend more frequently! We'll usually have garden gloves, and some
tools & often refreshements. There are nearly always Ramsey County
Master Gardeners and other plant-knowledgeable-folks in attendance, so it
is a good place to get your garden questions answered, native or
otherwise.
Get your preferred month(s) on your busy calender now! Dates
include (Sundays unless noted):
- April 15th (saturday)
- May 21st (3rd Sunday due to Mother's Day),
- June 11th,
- July 9th,
- Saturday August 19th (Parade of Community
Gardens! www.gardenworksmn.org )
- Sept 10th.
We often also have a fall harvest gathering and late season raking
session. Also note that we sometimes meet on an impromptu basis on a
weeknight, so if that is better for your schedule let us know
now.
Please share with any neighbor, Midway garden-head, or native plant
friend you think may appreciate knowing our schedule.
We look forward to gardening with you!
