Women in the Middle
a becket formation contra by David Kirchner

A1
With ladies in center, go down the hall four-in-line; turn as couples (8)
Return; gents cast off around ladies (8)

A2
Gents left shoulder gypsy (8)
Swing partner (8)

B1
Long lines forward and back (8)
Ladies roll away in front of partner (4)
Gents roll away in front of partner (4)

B2
Ladies balance and swing; end swing facing down next to partner (16)

Notes: The progression happens in the B1. The roll aways during that phrase do not include a half sashay. At the end of the two roll-aways, couples will have moved one place to the left and will be facing a new couple. This was my first attempt to write a dance, and I only called it once or twice. However, a caller who had danced it one of those times told me three years later that he had been calling it successfully ever since, so I resurrected it and found it was a pretty good dance.
