Teaching to the Linguistic Mosaic:
Approaches for Linguistically Diverse Classrooms (2 credits)

Learners speak and write in ways that reflect their diverse backgrounds, which may not be based on standard English. In this course you will learn to build the capacity to effectively design coursework and teach PreK–12 students who are learning English (ELL). Increase multicultural literacy and gain specific strategies to communicate with students learning standard English. Develop pedagogy and lesson plans that use the most current research on working with English language learners.
