• an intimate community of 1,826 students, part of a larger Hamline community of 5,000 students
• diverse (from 35 states and 57 countries; 18% of students are multicultural)
• smart (more than two-thirds receive academic scholarships)
• involved in 83 student organizations, 19 intercollegiate athletic teams, and six music ensembles

Clubs and Organizations
Hamline students participate in 83 different student clubs and organizations and intramural leagues and club teams.
Athletics
Follow the call of the Piper -- play your sport at Hamline. Led by top coaches from throughout the nation, Piper athletes thrive on fierce competition and unyielding support and teamwork. Coaches inspire athletes to perform on the field and in the classroom, providing students with a winning academic, social, and athletic experience.
Our 19 men’s and women’s athletic teams play in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Considered one of the toughest NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic conferences in the country, the MIAC hosts championships in 22 sports (11 for men, 11 for women) with its 13 participating schools regularly attracting some of the nation’s leading student athletes.
