Favorite college activity: I’ve taken African Drum Ensemble – a music class taught by one of my favorite professors – twice, and this semester will be my third. It’s held on Thursday afternoons and it’s a great way to end the day. In addition to teaching us new songs each semester, Professor Anderson spends time showing his students techniques for mindfulness meditation.

Interesting fact: I spent last spring semester studying abroad in England! I was able to live in the dorms with the rest of the University of York students and I took amazing classes which have led to my departmental honors research this year. During the 5-week Easter holiday we had, I traveled around Spain, Greece and Scotland and met up with British friends in London. It was a life-changing experience and I can’t wait to go back and visit!

Where you'll find me: When I’m on campus I spend a lot of time in the library. I have plenty of work to do as a graduating senior and the library is where I get most of my research done. When I’m not on campus I’ll likely be in a coffee shop (Groundswell is one of my favorites) or out with friends at one of my favorite places to eat, like Café Latte or the Uptown Diner.

Why I love Hamline: The professors at Hamline are brilliant, passionate and truly love to teach. As a student, there is nothing better than being taught by someone who knows the subject inside and out but is also patient and willing to work with you until you can say the same. My subjects are history and politics but I’ve taken classes like Chemistry and Society and had a good experience because my professor was so committed to helping me succeed.
