College attended: Hamline University

Major in college: Communication Studies with an emphasis in organizational communication. I also completed a minor in Business Management.

Favorite college activity: My favorite college activity was being a part of the orientation staff for three years. It was a great way to meet lots of new students and to have the opportunity to do the Hamline spirit cheer, the Piper Clap, more often!

Interesting fact: My favorite restaurant in Saint Paul is The Nook. It has been featured on the Food Network for its awesome Juicy Lucy (a hamburger with cheese cooked inside) and charming location. I’ve waited for up to an hour for a seat and it is always worth the wait. It is my favorite place to eat before a Piper Hockey game on a winter night!

Why I love Hamline: The Hamline community has an uncanny ability to provide both the comfort of a hometown while also providing access and opportunities to engage the larger world. When I first visited Hamline many years ago, I was welcomed as if I was already a part of the community. This welcoming spirit has continued to support and challenge me as a student and an individual for many years, and it is why I love being a Piper!
