Favorite college activity: Study abroad, without a doubt! I was able to study abroad in not one, but two countries over my junior year, traveling to Valparaíso, Chile in the fall and Nanjing, China in the spring, totaling nearly 10 months outside of the U.S. These experiences offered me two distinct perspectives that I had never had the opportunity of experiencing before. It was an eye opening journey and I know I will never stop seeking out opportunities to step outside my comfort zone.

Interesting fact: I played 5 instruments growing up, starting with piano at age 9. I participated in just about every ensemble possible including concert band, pep band, pit orchestra, jazz band, madrigal recorder choir, along with countless recitals and regional/state competitions. My other instruments included bass clarinet, bari sax, tenor sax, and bass recorder, with bass clarinet being my favorite.

Why I love Hamline: As a happy alumn my feelings about Hamline are impossible to condense. Hamline changed my life and always pushed me to achieve. I know I am a better person for the time I spent on this campus and my passion for lifelong learning has only intensified and expanded. I can't wait to share my stories and tips for success with the next generation of Pipers.
