Scholarships
Hamline offers two types of scholarship: scholarships that are awarded upon admission (academic scholarships that require no application) and scholarships requiring a separate application (additional scholarships). In addition, we recommend applying for outside scholarships and grants, which will not reduce the amount of Hamline University scholarship dollars you receive.

Hamline is proud to offer competitive financial aid to our students. We understand that your needs may change during four years, and are committed to work with you throughout your education to make sure that Hamline stays affordable.
“I feel a sense of responsibility to use my scholarship to its fullest potential, and this has really driven me to push myself to become involved and to make the most of my time at Hamline.”
- Amanda Dutcher ’10 (Pelican Rapids, Minnesota)
How do I apply for financial aid >VALUE
Named a "Great School, Great Price" by U.S. News & World Report, Hamline is not only a sound investment, but a great value. Here's why:
- We offer competitive financial aid and scholarship opportunities
- Our four year guarantee: you'll earn your bachelor's degree in four years or we'll pay the difference (a potential savings of $40,000-60,000)
- We encourage you to apply for outside scholarships and grants (we won't reduce the amount of scholarship dollars we give you)
