HSA 10th Year Update
Do we want paper plates or Hamline plates and silverware? If we do get Hamline plates then it will look more professional, but will cost us extra. However, we do get free service. For sure we do not want paper plates, because it is our 10th year Anniversary and will look unprofessional for a semi-formal event. We also have the option of having Hamline food catered to us, or we can still cater through Foodsmart, both will cost at or about the same amount, but could vary.

10th Year Anniversary Planning
Amee Xiong speaks Agenda from the Logistics meeting.
Attached is the schedule.

Ka suggest additional people, she will send out the list through email.

Any suggestions or ideas for the 10th Year Anniversary Agenda?

Cheng speaks first before the 2006-2007 president.
Cheng will introduce the new President.

Have speakers to talk about a specific something, because do not want speakers to overlap.

Pa Seng: Talk about his involvement as advisor towards HSA these past 10 years.

Carlos: HSA involvement in the larger community and MISA, collaboration with other organizations.

Pa suggests to put President Linda Hanson in the beginning, because she is just speaking general stuff.

Mai Nhia thinks that if President Linda Hanson goes first, then it will seem as she is presenting HSA, she should stay in the middle.

Co-Founder: Speak about his involvement in HSA as the co-founder and President.

Teng suggest that President Hanson should not be giving the award, because she has only been here for a little bit.
Vote on it: President Hanson should give the award

Teng suggest that why can’t Carlos or Alan Sickbert who has been here for a long time give the award for Paseng.
Voting wins: Co-founder and President Linda Hanson to present the award for Paseng.

Cheng will speak about his experience and introduce the new HSA President of 2006-2007 and the new executive board.

Entertainment: Tou Ger Xiong to come and perform, C2C will bring him in.
HSA would like to do something as well?

Tou Ger Xiong to do a specific theme, because he is a comedian and it will throw off the whole anniversary, it doesn’t seem to fit, because the anniversary is a serious thing.

It will be RSVP and open to the Hamline campus community.

The Logistics committee will be meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 14th. Anyone is welcome to come and give their thoughts and ideas.

Pa, Houa, Michelle, and Maisue have met for the funding.
Pa and Houa is working on the proposal to give it to the departments.
Proposal will be done by next week.

Michelle is in charge of committee, Maisue is contacting newspaper such as Hmong Times and Hmong Today to publicize HSA 10th Year Anniversary.

We are going to combine the Logistics and the funding committee together, so that we can all come up with a budget.

Most of the communications are in all three committees. We will combine the Logistics, Publicity, and Funding altogether. Mostly everything falls under the Logistics committee, we will all work together.

Total budget: $1,500 and other previous fundraisings in the past.
