    Welcome, International Students! 

    The International and Off-Campus Programs (IOCP) office is dedicated to supporting, empowering and promoting the success of international students.

    We provide advising and ongoing support for international students and scholars, keeping you informed of programs, resources, and services. The IOCP office assists with all international student immigration processes, the coordination of international student orientation, cultural activities, trips, and the advising of both the Hamline International Graduate Student Association (HIGSA) and the International Student Organization (ISO). Our goal is to facilitate your transition to the US and Hamline, and to assist you in your pursuit of your educational and career goals.

    Employment Opportunity:

    The International & Off Campus Programs Office is currently hiring two summer Activity Leaders for the Hamline University Summer Language Institute (HUSLI) from July 10th - August 5th, 2012. As an Activity Leader, you will be actively engaged with international students from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday and afternoons on Saturday and Sunday. Your responsibilities will include: organizing and leading weekday evening activities (e.g. trips, games, sport activities, etc.) and weekend day-trips, monitoring participants to ensure their safety (including being on call during night time hours), and assisting with their cultural adjustment. Activity Leaders are expected to live in the residence halls (rooms cost is covered for the duration of the program), meals in Sorin are also covered for the duration of the program. A valid drivers license and ability to drive a 15 passenger van is required. If you are interested in this position please submit a CV/ Resume and cover letter to the IOCP Office.

    Summer is upon us! Just a few reminders: 

    • It is mandatory for MBA students to register for the summer term as it is not an official break period for the School of Business. The summer MBA term begins on April 30th, 2012
    • Students interested in Optional Practical Training (OPT) following graduation should set up an advising appointment with IOCP staff at your earliest possible convenience. You have 60 days to leave the US or apply for OPT following the official end date of your last academic term.
    • Graduating students are ineligible to work on campus following the official end date of your last academic term (this is a visa regulation as well as Hamline HR policy for all students).
    • If you intend on travelling out of the country please request a travel letter and double check that your I-20 or DS-2019 has been signed by an IOCP staff member. Signatures are valid for one year and must be valid when you re-enter the US.
